280 AI Brass options. HELP

I've got some 30-06 Lapua coming to try fireforming to 280AI. If it works, I can live with a short neck and extra chamber cleaning. The rifle will be used solely for hunting so, I'm not overly concerned about the carbon build-up. I'm planning on fire forming 5 cases and see for myself what happens with the supposed carbon build-up. I'm running a hot load and the Norma cases aren't liking it.

I ended up using RWS 270 brass . Same length as 280 but shoulder is further back . Needs to be necked up to 30 and back down to 284 to make false shoulder to fireform ( same as 30-06 ) . I played with 30-06 and 7x64 Lapua and both came up quite a bit short . Nosler is the easiest option by far !

Why don't you just neck it up seat your projectile to touch or slight jam use a medium load and go shooting. You may have to trim your case first. I turn 270w into 7.06AI. The fire forming load is good for up to 600 for target shooting in F Class.
