I am currently building a short barreled (16”) 28 Nosler and I am looking for any info on velocities using 180 and 195 class bullets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That’ll be a fire breather
Options:
1) Tragically uniformed/misguided concept
2) Trolling
Not near as bad as a 338 or 375 CheyTacThat’ll be a fire breather
All of it according to quick load (Retumbo)What powder are you plan on using.
Help? Add at least eight inches to the barrel. How much of that 86 grains of powder do you think will burn in 16"?
All you naysayers must have not considered the capabilities of 16-20" barreled pistols. For you steel shooters, don't laugh too loud when a guy shows up with a 223 pistol and makes you all look like fools at 1000 yds.
Personally I'd go 18-20" barrel, but there ain't a 7-08 rifle on this planet that can push a 195 anywhere near the speed a 28 Nosler will in a handgun. As been said until the 28 was introduced, the 7 Dakota was and still is a popular caliber in specialty handguns.
