28 Nosler terminal ballistics

Went out with a friend for a damage hunt this morning. He used the 28 Nosler I built for him last year. The shot was only 330 yards. 195 grain hybrid entered the brisket passed through the heart and clipped the bottom of one lung. The cow staggered for probably 5 seconds then fell.

Excellent shot placement--beautiful panoramic view of one of the best places in Mt.
Just look at those mountains!!! Outstanding!!!

Well her is a bullet recovered from a whitetail at 912 yards with a 6mm dasher 105 hornady amax.
How far did the deer go? Where did you hit it? I wish there were some pics, I'ld love to see the damage it did. Looks like great performance on that bullet for that cartridge and distance. How big of white tail was it( body weight)?

Well a farmer invited me down to help some of his guys hunting there withsome long range shooting they have dashers also the wind was blowing hard left I put a minute an a half in guy beside me was spotting first shot elevation was good two feet to left dialed to the hit in dirt took a quick shot deer went belly up an kicked a little the bullet angled up wasin the backbone ialways like to have a spotter that way its usually a good kill shot the gentlemen that invited me down had it cut up an made into summer sausage so I did not inspect the damage.Ps it was decent size doe I have heard reports of shots with 28 nsler from a few guys here that I put together for them that were farther away than the doe that I got they were shooting berger bullets I don't know what weght of bullet but it is tuff on them deer.

Thats great George, I just ordered a barrel for my friend to build me a dasher with, looking forward to it. I have a 28 Nosler throated for the 195 Bergers, i was in Colorado this year , killed a deer at 300 yards with it, now worse meat damage then my 2300 wm or 7rem mag. Shoot no more damage than my 260rem for that matter, as long as you hit them right. Shot my cow elk at 700+ and it just dropped in its tracks , legs buckled, fell like a bowl of jelly. Devastated the in organs with minimal meat loss. Shot my 5x5 bull at 968 yards, same thing, turned 180deg. in his tracks tabled back and forth for about 2 seconds and hit the bricks. Same thing, internals were destroyed and normal meat loss like if shot with an 06. Granted all shots hit where i wanted, right behind the shoulder, I can see if you hit a an animal wrong you can do some serious damage, but so goes with a lot of other cartridges also. I cant say how much I love the 28, its pretty easy to load for,my gun was finished about 8 days before my hunt, well put together, still needs to be caracoled or beed blasted, and i finished load development 3 days before I left.
My friend just got in a on a ranch to cull wittily next year, I can see along withe the creedmoor the dasher will be going! LOL

George, I figured it hit good bone with that type of expansion at that yardage and that velocity, Thats why I was asking the details. Did you guys hit any at long distance with the dasher say behind the shoulder or in the shoulder? Just curious what kind of performance you got.

No shoulder hits tried for vitals that is not a lot of bullet to trying shoulder shots I want them to expire quickly.

I here you on the shoulder shots, just wondering if maybe you guys mist a vital sot and hit a shoulder. Did you guys get any good hits in the vitals at long range? Just wondering how they performed.

I shoot Barnes either TTSX or LRX bullets and shoulders are no issue whatsoever. I actually try to touch them a bit as it helps in the static shock wave. a 22 cal 62 gr TSX will shoot straight thru both shoulders of a big deer. WITH massive tissue damage.
