Well as of Jan 24 2022 Sig is finally releasing ammo for this. A 130 FMJ 3000 fps @ 100 yds. and a 150 Accubond 3120 fps @100 yds.. I noticed the ballistics are given at 100 yds. The 130 gr. is in a traditional all brass case, where as the 150 gr. is in a hybrid case (Stainless head/brass body). Truely impressive for a case the size of a 308.

The ultimate reloader guy has a write up of a load with a 308 win with 125 Balistic tip he says a max load is 3130 with standard components. I know we keep hearing about all this new state of the art stuff, but I am not seeing it. The log range elk hunters years ago handmade steel basses and screwed on a bass body. Daryal Castle and his guys were doing this a long time ago. I think with a engineering staff and solid financing they could do better than a bunch of hillbillies 20 years ago

I thought it was interesting that the 130 gr. load was an all brass case vs the 150 gr.. I wonder if this has to do with regards to reloading...The 130 case being re-loadable and the 150. not and being a full or close to 80,000 psi load.

When I read the first post I was thinking of the load I made for my 308 flyweight bolt gun, a 125 Accubond with H322. It's getting 3176 (at the muzzle) from a 20" barrel with no recoil. 99.6% burn rate.

I have an old mauser that is in 30-06 that i shoot 125 BTs in, that bullet doesn't have much BC but it has speed. You need at least one or the other.

YUP My old hunting load was, for a BSA Majestic in the 80's - 125 Nosler, Win case, H322 (AR2206) 3100fps. Can't remember the powder load, but the recoil was on the sharp side in a 6lb rifle, and no I was not related to my wife before marriage.
