.277 Bergers

Does anyone have info on the weights and styles of .277 bullets that Berger is playing around with and do you guys think that with Berger producing .277 bullets other bullet makers might follow their lead.

I am sure Eric will answer shortly but, I think he told me 130s first then 150s and then maybe some light stuff for the 6.8 if all turns out well.

Eric announced on LongRangeHunting on the 11th that you can put in your order for the 130,140 and 150 VlD's right now. Order directly from Berger or with your dealer. Haven't heard an established b.c. yet. He said they were designed to work in the 1-10" barrels.

I was wondering if the .277x284 would bridge the gap in barrel life between the 6.5x284 and straight 284 win. It would be an interesting cartridge to play with now that we have some good bullets.

Too bad none of us 6.8SPC 3 gunners can use the new bullets.
We were hoping they would be short enough and still have a decent BC for those 400 yard steels everyone is putting up.
For now I guess the 90gr TNTs at 2950fps will do.

I asked about the weights of these bullets because I would like to build a 27 PPC Imp and shoot light weight bullets.I want to make a case very similar to a necked up 6.5 Grendel but with a slightly shorter neck. With the inherent accuracy potetial of the PPC case and the .277 bullet diam. I believe this cartridge could be of great use in the score shooting game.
