270 WIN reloading

I am reloading 270 WIN. My brass is at the recommended length but with a Hornady V-Max 110 gr bullet, it is short of the oal for a completed cartridge. Is this a problem?

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking for guidance on, so I'll take a SWAG and hope that it helps.

The Hornady 8th edition manual recommends a COL of 3.165" for the 110 grain V-Max.

Hodgdon load data recommends a COL of 3.100" for the 110 grain V-Max.

In either case, you're likely to have a pretty good jump before the bullet engages the rifling in your barrel.
