When I had a 270, I loaded a max charge of H4831 with the 130 ballistic tips and it was super accurate. RL 22 was about the same with a bit more velocity. IMR 4350 worked well too.

The top end of imr 4350 or h4831. If one of those doesn’t work, the rife probobly has an issue.
Edit: and for what its worth, 130 balistic tips are usually easy to get to shoot well.

I have found that the recommended accuracy load in the Nosler data will usually put you to a good starting point.

If you have rl23, that could work, similar charges to 22 data. Else probably 4831

For decades I’ve used H4831 and at some point went to H4831sc. No change in grains of powder. And, I’ve been using Nosler 130 gr Ballistic Tips since they became available.

Just to say it, IMR 4831 is a bit faster than H4831. Do not interchange loads. And how do I know that? Well, this guy I know…

The largest white tail that I killed was with a 270, 130g Nosler ballistic tip, 58g of R#22, Fed 210, that shot a ragged hole at 100 yards. I rattled the 260 lb buck in, he came through the woods, and it sounded like a freight train coming. He stopped at 15 feet, and I shot him through the chest, breaking the left front shoulder, and the bullet was in his right rear ham, about to exit the hide.

60-61g of H4831 with a cci 250 is another great load in many rifles. All my rifles like for this bullet to be seated very near the lands if not barely touching the lands.

55-55.5g of IMR 4350 with a Rem 9 1/2 was extremely accurate in two rifles.\

Load up each of these, and get ready to have a great day at the rifle range!

Thanks for all the suggestions. l went with 57.0 grains of Reloder 26 & the Federal 210m. Kinda the easy button for velocity & will see if the accuracy is there.

Have the barrel soaking with that foaming copper fouling remover now

Will shoot it on Monday
