.270 reloading

Hi everyone.

I need some advice/guidance I have a Musgrave K98 .270 caliber and started reloading recently, I purchased Hodgdon H4895 powder the only power I could find in the area I stay in and have Hornady 145grain ELD-X bullets but can not find loading data on the Hornady site or app for the 145grain bullet.

Has anyone made use of this combination before and do not mind sharing the loading data with me.

Use the data for 150 grain bullets and work up from the suggested start load.

You will not get good case fill with H-4895. It's on the fast side of powder burn rate for the 270 win with 140+ grain bullets.

H-4831 / H-4831sc would by my #1 choice for the 270win.

If H-4895 was the only powder in existence, I guess I could start around 40 or 41 gr and work up diligently in 0.5 gr increments. What the safe MAX is, only your rifle knows.

Hornday manual # 10 has loading data 270 using 145gr ELD-X bullet and that data is listed along with Hornady 140gr's. They don't have H-4895 powder listed and I do shoot 270 and it's not powder I would use. Hodgdon has data using different 140gr bullet using H-4895 but not listed using 150gr bullet.

The data Hodgdon is pretty slow start 40gr/H-4895 @ 2627fps max 42.6/H-4895 @ 2768fps.
