264 LBC-AR

Looking for assistance identifying the manufacturer of this brass. I discussed this with a buddy at Redeye Reloading and thought it was ADG but perhaps you astute reloaders might be able to assist with a definite conclusion to this dilemma. Much obliged.

I've never seen that but it's just Grendel brass anyway. I shoot Lapua in mine. I believe I saw some Hornady one time but that was over 15 years ago.

The original Alexander brass was Lapus but they have changed...I think to Hornady. Have no idea who made the brass for LBC. Pretty sure but not certain about this but, I think Lapua is the only maker that uses small flash holes. The AA brass was identical in every way to Lapua, other than headstamp...fwiw.

Pretty good brass. I have a couple hundred pieces. I shoot it out of my Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel. That’s the Alexander Arms brass but I run the Hornady in the .264 LBC AR. I can’t remember but I thought it was made for AA by Lapua. It is very good brass and several years old. Mike nailed it. I can stand loosing the Hornady but not the AA brass. Daylight and dark difference between the two.

How many firings do you get out of the 264

To be honest I only have about 200 pcs each of AA and Hornady. Probably 2 firings on the AA 264 LBC Brass and the Hornady Brass. I started that project and both weapons shot really well so I didn’t have to do much load work up. Hornady Black 123 gr. shot really well too. I used 123 Hornady ELD M and Sierra 85 gr HP. Used H335 for the 85 gr and IMR 8208 XBR for the 123 ELD M. Sierra Pro Hunter 120 gr shot decent but not as good as the Hornady 123 gr. The only animal I shot was a bobcat and it tore it up. Never shot a deer with it as I went down the 6BR, 6XC, and 6x45 holes.

Years back when Les Baer was coming out with the 264 LBC, I purchased 500 pieces of once fired from them. With the exception of about 50 or so pieces, all were AA 6.5 Gren stamped. The 50ish other pieces were Lapua. So, in effect all were Lapua small flash hole 6.5 Grendel brass.

The quick way to tell is to see if it is small flash hole (Lapua) or something else. This day and age it is probably something else.
