260AI & 150smk

I'm interested in trying the 150smk in my 260AI with H1000, anyone have any luck with this combo? Barrel is an 8 twist so I'd like to run them close to 2900 to stabilize, if possible.

You think you could get enough in there for 2900?

I could not get enough in a 6.5 x55 BJ AI to get in the upper 2800's before I had compression that interfered with seating bullets to desired depth. Worth a test if you have some on hand but the .260AI has a little less capacity than the above case IIRC.

I was given a partial can to try, I've never used H1000. What kind of charge weights would I be looking at?

I'm in the same boat with a 260 rem AI I use H4350...My Buddy runs one of those 6.5 GWI , A hopped up 55 Swede..He just loaded some 150 grain bullets one grain under his normal charge..I'm going to try that & my fireforming load of H4831sc...Good luck be safe...Mike in Ct

46gr of h4831 should be good in the AI case. I shoot 48.1 under 140s.

I got the150s to stabilize in a standard 260 with a 1-8 @ 2850 range with RL26.
