You guys are right; 600 and in 260 Rem could be highly competitive in F-Open. I was thinking 1000 yards.

Just for clarification nothing prevents anyone shooting either the 308 or 223 in Open class. FTR is limited to the two mentioned; not so with FO.

While I will allow that you are correct, why?That's like a nuance of the PHMSA regulations I'd discuss with another Transportation and Disposal guy at a seminar somewhere.
In I don't know how many matches I've fired over the last 4 yrs or so I cannot think of a single instance that someone shot a 223 or a 308 in F-open. I've seen open guns fired from bipods, and I've been grouped with the Open guns because we didn't have enough for a class in TR, but I've never seen someone by design come to the line shooting a 308 or a 223 in F-Open.
