260 Rem. recipes

Can anyone give me a starting point for my 260 rem. I am going to start out trying reloader 17. I am new to reloading so I am going to try and keep it basic for right now. My rifle will primarly be used for hunting whitetail deer. You guys can correct me if I am wrong but I was thinking about Seirra 120gr. Prohunters for starting out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
David

Hi David, I'm using 41 grs of Varget behind a nosler 120BT. I'm also using Remington brass that has been sorted because the weights are not as consistant as I would like them to be.
But if Hunting is all you are going to do with it you have no worries. I shot this load out of two different guns with the same results. A Browning A-bolt Micro hunter, and also a Savage LRPV with a McGowen 28" Bull barrel.
You might want to do a search for 260 Rem loads I'm sure it will produce more. I have a few more that I'm working on I'll let you know how they turn out. Good luck.

There's two threads on Sniper's Hide with 260 recipes:
http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=348731 (mixed in with .243, 6.5 Creedmore, and 6.5x47 Lapua loads)
http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1252154

Mostly recipes for 140gr class bullets, but some for lighter bullets too. I'm pretty happy with 42.7gr of RL17 driving a 139gr Scenar (note that this is over Alliant's published max of 41.0gr for a 140gr bullet). Chronos at around 2840fps in my gun. No signs of pressure... even at 43.0gr I saw no signs, but it only got me ~10-15fps more and worse accuracy.

David,
I use 39.5gr. of Varget in Rem prepped and sorted brass and Fed 210 primers for the 120gr. ProHunter with my McGowen barreled Savage in 260 Rem. ~2900 fps and low spreads. Usually at or under 1/2 MOA at 200 yds. You know the drill on working up to the load... J

I run 47 grns of RL-19 under a 120 grn BT, with great luck, My Wife has Killed many deer with this load at various ranges
