260 REM Bullet Choice

I wouldn't be to concerned with those choices they will all work and your only talking 300 yards.

I used a 129gr nosler long range Accubond from my 260 on elk last season with no issue.

Lots of elk are killed with both the .260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmoor and the 130 class bullets. There is plenty of energy available at 300 yards. Elk are not bullet-proof. Your responsibility is still to make the best, killing shot.

I've used the .240 Weatherby cartridge to kill deer and a couple of elk. The right bullet, right shot placement and yardage justified by energy constraints. One shot, down and in the freezer.

My 6.5 Creedmoor bullet is either the 130 grain Golden Target Match or the Scirocco 2.

;)

Deer don't take a whole lot of killing, out of the selection, the only one I probably wouldn't lean towards is the 123gr SST since it was really made for the Grendel and you could push it too hard in a .260/Creed. The top 4 would be my top choices, they are all top game bullets. I've killed an elk each with the 140gr Accubond and the 127gr LRX, of those two I prefer the Accubond in pretty much all calibers I've used it in for good penetration and wound channel.

Of your selection, I'd probably personally go with the Bondstrike, they are getting excellent reviews, are supposed to be very similar to Accubond and are more available/cheaper than the Terminal Ascents.

Well I have over five hundred each of the 130gr Terminal ascent and the Swift 130gr bullets I got on an AWESOME deal awhile back and went nuts buying them, so either I guess. I think I am going to try the Swifts as I am not shooting them in anything else and have so many.

On another note, I had a Howa1500 in 22-250 my friend really wanted and I never shoot it so we worked a trade, the picture is of what I traded for, he built this rifle years ago and I always wanted it :)

6.5x55 Swed Mauser
1:8 Twist Barrel
BRNO VZ24 Action
Hand Carved and Checkered Valero Walnut Stock
One hole shooter

The friend I traded this rifle with was my long time mentor and taught me most of what I know about building bolt guns, it is nice to have one of his builds in the stable. He was once a national bench rest champion but I will leave names out of this.

Do not get me wrong the Howa I traded him was nice but I really feel like I got the DEAL on this one.

Oh, well that's an important bit of information, in that case I'd definitely use one of those two, both bonded options with an excellent track record you shouldn't be able to go wrong. I'd probably lean towards the TAs, one of the top killing bullet designs out there with bonded lead up front and a solid shank. They always do very well in tests and field reports seem to back that up. I'd love to pick some up for a good deal, I just can't ever find them, and when I do they are over a buck a pop. Any tips on where to find awesome deals on them?

I found them for sale in large lots on Gunbroker, but they are all gone now (I bought most all I could). I got them in .30 cal 200gr for my 30 Nosler and 300 RUM and I got the 6.5s for my 26 Nosler. I also use (but do not have many) 175s I use in 300 Win Mag. Terminal Ascent is a devastating bullet in .30 cal. I also use 6.5 143gr Bondstrike in my 6.5-284 and my 6.5-300 WBY, so far everything I have shot with them has fallen over dead.

I really went on a crazy bullet buying spree there for awhile! Look at the picture of one of my shelves to the right are brown jars full of PREMIUM bullets I have been collecting. It is a sickness...... I also bought about 1500 Federal Trophy Bonded 165gr bullets, basically a Terminal Ascent before TA was released.

Great Choice.
I which I had that many.
Would you consider trading or saleing any of the Swift.

127 Lrx is a good choice . We use them for whitetail here and have been very impressed. Animals usually go right down ….. in the event a shot is slightly off and they bolt , bullet leaves a great blood trail . Typically shooting 100-300 yards
