260 Rem ..... 10" twist compatible factory load?

Before I spend time/money working on handloads, any suggestions for factory ammo that will be stable in a 1/10 twist barrel AND show me what potential the rifle has? I've found so far 140ish match bullets in factory Berger ammo, others as well but none that would be considered "match" in 120 or less weight.

I would say stay in the 130-grain area, for best results with the slower twist, but you don't know what a load will do for sure unless you try it.

I do not believe you can stabilize anything heavier than a 120 with a 10 twist .264 bore. This isn't from experience but just an opinion. Anything up to 120s should be fine. 95s would be great bullets for that twist barrel. Not sure your usage for that rifle is but the 120 amax would be the best LR option bullet IMO for a 10 twist barrel

123gr is about max with that twist.

You can probably get up to 130's to work. A short tangent ogive 140 might work.

All 260rem Federal Factory ammo will work in a 10" twist EXCEPT their Gold Medal Match 142 smk.

And ALL the Federal Premium 260 ammo is accurate. They load with 120 Ballistic Tip, 140 Gameking and 120 Fusion.

I own and shoot several .260's and have learned that an 8 or 8.5 twist is best for that caliber. I had a 9 twist that would not stabilize anything over a 123. I think you may struggle with accuracy with a 10 twist. Just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary.
