.260 and CFE223

I use CFE223 in my .308s and it is really great. Does anybody have any experience using it in a .260? I am going to be re-barreling a rifle to .260 this fall and will be mainly shooting 130-grain bullets.

I have a number of different powders, including the two mentioned and will try them all. I e-mailed the company to see if there was any info available for CFE223 more for curiosity sake, than necessity. Now, if Criterion was not so slow with their barrels, everything would progress!

CFE223 will be too fast for the 130s and heavier. You might want to try it with the 107 gr. SMKs if you want a low recoil load. Hodgdon's site has data for CFE223 and the lighter bullets.

That 107 gr. SMK shoots great in my 6.5 Grendel but I never thought to try it in my .260 AI. Hmmm . . . . Might be good coyote medicine.

I've been running 41.4 gr of CFE in my 6.5x55 Swede,,,, I haven't run it over a chrono yet,,, had some pressure signs at 42 gr so I backed it off
