260 AI

Not that I have seen available off the shelf, but that's the idea of the Ackley chamberings, you can fire the parent case safely and often times just as accurate as the formed case.

You could buy hydroformed brass, though.

I have had 5 .260A.I.s.. If you want the brass fireformed as BEST as possible to the chamber, there is a really good way of doing it.
Get LAPUA L/R primer brass and if you are going to turn the necks, NOW is the time to do it. If you are not going to neck turn, find what a loaded round measures at the neck and get a bushing 3 thousandths SMALLER than the loaded round. Load a 140 Berger VLD with 43.0grs of H4831sc or 40.5grs of H4350. Seat the 140VLD 15 thousandths INTO the lands and go shoot a match. It will shoot well enough to do very well at a 300 or 600 yard match. AND you will have fun fireforming the brass to about 98 percent and your headspace will be right on the money!

Yep.
I've messed around with hydro forming and cream of wheat in Ackleys, the best you can do is about 80-85% and the shoulders are not even sharp so you have to fire them AGAIN.

Now I keep the old barrel on after its burned out to fire form for the new barrel.

My fire forming load for my 260AI is 44gr of H4831 under a 130-140gr bullet. I do not jam into the lands and still get very good shoulder definition from one firing.

Right, having a slight crush fit on bolt closing is necessary for proper AI forming.

I have had Ackley cartridges before but not a 260AI but is there much if any advantage over the 6.5 Creedmoor?
I am a BIG fan of "straighter" case walls and 40 degree shoulders. I believe that gives them a better case design. PLUS the 40 degree shoulder really keeps the job of trimming your brass to a minimum. You can get about 50 or so f.p.s. increase in velocity. But it's the case design I like.

I took Peterson 260 brass loaded 015 into lands with 43 gr of h4831sc. They shot very good now to work up a load, Thanks for the information on fireforming. Perk

My gun liked 48gr of H4831 with the 140rdf and 47.7gr with the Berger 140VLDT. I now shoot 47.8gr of RL23 in Peterson SRP behind the 140VLDT at 2977fps. 2960-2980 seems to be a good velocity many of the 140s like to perform well.
