Like it says. I am looking for the mentioned bullit in a 120+ with a +500BC. Does this bullit exist? I friend asked me to look around knowing I am on this sight. ANY help would be great.....Thank's

The only one I know of that will even come close is the 115 grain Berger VLD with a 0.466 G1BC...

JLK sells 108s. http://www.swampworks.com/jlk/

BIB sells 110s. http://bibullets.com/products-2/

Matrix sells 125g. http://www.matrixballistics.com/.257-caliber-rifle-bullets.html

Wildcat Bullets used to sell 125/130g bullets in .257, but I cant find a website for them since they have been purchased from Richard Graves.

Not sure if any of those bullets beats the BC of the 115g Berger VLDs.

You have discovered why the .257 cal is not a good long range caliber. There is not enough demand to interest the manufacturers and a lot of Weatherbys had 1-12 twists.

Just tying up loose ends when people go searching for "high BC 25 Caliber".

The Blackjack Bullets 131 gr ACE has a tested 0.330 G7 at 2940 fps. It will be available in the next few weeks. At speeds over 3200 fps 1:7.5 - 1:8 twist is perfect. With speeds lower than 3200 fps we recommend 1:7 - 1:7.5 twist.

Below you will see one of our 11 shot groups at 1000 yds during BC testing. We were mostly focused on making sure the equipment was working but all the groups we shot were pretty great considering the skill level of the shooters and wind conditions.

If you'll drop down in weight a bit, the BIB 110Gr BT has a BC of .52

Randy has pushed these at 3500+ FPS in his 257 IdiotMag:eek:

Here are the best-in-class 130 grain bullets which are very popular in different cartridges across the industry. Of course these fall in different weight-per-caliber classes but there are many many people shooting 130's from 6.5 to 0.277" from matches to hunting. This simply shows what extra ballistics could enjoy necking down a little - all 130s shown at same Muzzle Velocity.

The 28" 25x284 we chambered for BC testing went to 3202 fps with no issues. Although barrel life would suffer we wanted to see what the 25x284 would look like compared to the best-in-class 7mm bullets fired from the same parent case. Since barrel life would suffer in match applications, although 25x284 would make a killer hunting laser, it's as easy as running a 26"+ length barrel on a 25 Creedmoor to achieve the 284 ballistics. Even the 25x47L comes close at 2950 fps (2985 fps equates to 284+180 hybrid wind with less drop).

***Just posting this info in this older thread that comes up from google search and Accurate shooter search when guys go looking for "high BC 25 Cal" or "high BC 257" so they can find out the latest news on what they are looking for.***

You should list the twist rates youve proven in competition that work with your bullets as im sure a new barrel is in order for most to use your new vld

Have you tested any of your bullets in a 10tw barrel? I have a .257 STW that I hunt with and will be working up a new load using the 110 BIBs. I am using a 27 inch Shilen Select March Grade Barrel. It will consistently shoot 100gr TTSXs in the .3s or better.

Also what is the G1 bc?

Would you send a guy 3-5 bullets to get a reamer made?
I could see myself shooting these in an XC or X47 case.

It appears they want you to order from them, to include the reamers. I tried to get some info about the bullets, jacket lengths, and such, and received a… we can't do that.

Edit: I won't buy a pig in a poke.

Thanks JRS, I'm having a tough time wrapping my head around the .289 neck dia of the reamers for sale. That seems like neck turned 6.5 territory?

My 250 Ackley reamer has a no turn 0.286 neck, and that is more than ample clearance.

BS, you get to work and lay some ground work for me, lol
:p The neck diameter on my 25BR and 25x47 reamers are no turn 0.285. Again, more than ample clearance. Until I get answers, my money stays in my pocket. Perhaps sometime down the road we'll read unbiased reviews from actual testing.

Thanks. What will it take to stabilize them?

Regarding twist rate, the 131 ACE will require 1:7.25" - 1:8" twist depending on speed and elevation. The bullet is 1.415" long so you can calculate your necessary twist for intended velocity application and geography using http://www.bergerbullets.com/twist-rate-calculator/

All the barrels we sell will provide 100% BC down to sea level and freezing temperatures to minimize gun-to-gun BC variation. There have been plenty of guys that have ordered bullets to try them in 1:10" and 1:9" rifles against our recommendations to see if it will work. In some situations the bullets may be Marginally Stable but there will be BC sacrifice and variability we have done our best to avoid by providing 165 proper twist blanks in our webstore www.blackjackbullets.com

If anyone wants to see how much muzzle velocity it would take to achieve Full Stability and 100% BC with the 1:10" twist rate check out the series of slides we organized highlighting different scenarios of Muzzle Velocity and Elevation here https://blackjackbullets.com/long-b...ity-factor-131-grain-blackjack-ace-of-course/
