257 Kimber

[Centex Bill]

I have a 722 Remington 378 bolt face action. Also, I have a 257 barrel blank in 1 in 10 twist.

I saw a post in reference to the 257 Kimber. This tweated my interest. Where could I rent a reamer and who makes reloading dies?

Has anybody got experience with this round.

Since you are starting fresh--you may want to consider the 257 ackley--a fine cartridge..

Hi Bill, L.E. Wilson makes seater and neck sizer for 257 Kimber(222 mag parent case). Redding also lists custom dies for the 257 Kimber. The Hodgdon website has 257 Kimber data. May want to consider the 25 TCU(223 parent case) which I would guess is pretty close to the 257 Kimber ballistically. Redding makes custom dies for the 25 TCU. PTG makes reamers for both. Don't know about renting. Could essentially do a 25 TCU if your smith had a 223AI reamer and the proper 25 cal. necker/throater. Regards, John
