2500 X questions

Spook

Captured too late to be fully domesticated.
Ive been bitten by the rimfire bug.
People selling this action dont answer the phone. Ever?
Lester Bruno's people do all they can to covey answers but straining the conversations through the two (very nice) women that ask Lester direct then translate ..... isnt working out.... and this isnt a slight against them.
With regard to the footprint....
Does the proximal portion of the action fit where a Rem action fits, ie does the rearmost action screw in relation to the placement of the trigger housing match a 700?
Also in the instance of a RB/RP has anyone ever milled a load port into the left side to facilitate it becoming a load left/eject right setup that would match the function of my 1K gun?
I have a Micky F Class that I'd like to use for said action that is OK for the local hillbilly club matches its to be shot in , otherwise its a "ground up" effort and if I could reuse this stock I'd be half way home.
Big Thanks in advance for informative responses.

I will need to measure one, but the front screw is not going to line up, The rear screw is probably close enough to use in a 700 inlet. But its not a true 700 tang. The ports sit high enough you should not need to notch the stock for a load port.

Alex
you have me interested here as to converting an inlet from the 700-style tang to a squared benchers-type tang. I had the impression the alterations are not worth the effort.

When you say “people selling the action don’t answer the phone “ are you referring to Dan Killough? He makes them and has always been available.
Dan has always come on the phone for me in short order. The guys service is outstanding! I'm just finishing a new 2500x. I bought this new action from Killough Shooting Sports. PQP has them also. Picture is of the one before the new one. It shot lights out. RBLP for competition in my opinion.

I have not ever had any issue getting Dan @ PQP on the hone and he has always been genuinely interested in what I wanted to discuss. He's building a gun now for a good friend. Maybe he was on a vacation?
Now, The 2500X is indeed a square tang action with a trigger hanger. IMO the R700 inlet is not going too work very well without a lot of work.
Also, after beginning the journey with a RBRP I quickly switched to the RBLP action. In fact, many friends I shoot other types of 22LR matches with are shooting RBLP repeater actions and love them.
