This is VERY IMPORTANT information.
NEW THREAT by SCAM SITES
A web security company has identified over 2500 scam gun/reloading supplies websites. These are run by criminals out to steal your money.
There is a NEW and dangerous feature in some of these scam sites -- a fake link to Mastercard or Visa for payment.
The scammers use this to try to fool you into thinking the site is valid (since it has at least one major credit card listed). The site will allow you to type in your CC information (CC number, Expiration date, 3-digit code etc.) After you fill in the info the site states "Your Credit card is not working, please use Zelle or CashApp".
But they have stolen your CC info!! The bad guys may then use your card to pay for their own site expenses and buy items on the web. And/or they may sell the CC information to other criminals. You can help reduce risks by having CC text alerts on your phone.
We still note that you can use four steps to reveal a scam gun/ammo/components website.
1. The site allows you to add massive quantities of hard-to-find components, such as 1000 pounds of Varget.
2. The site does not have offer major credit cards -- only Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, PayPal F&F, and even Bitcoin. Most scam sites do not offer any major credit cards. But SEE ABOVE!
3. The site does not have a valid address, and the phone is not answered normally.
4. Gun sales without requiring a valid delivery FFL.
---------------------
Given this NEW THREAT however, we urgently state you should NEVER ever purchase from ANY site you cannot verify.
I would personally not buy from ANY vendor that does not advertise with this site or is listed in the Deals of the Week.
Do NOT give your credit card information to any site that has Zelle, CashApp, Bitcoin prominently displayed.
Bottom line, for guns, reloading components, and optics, we urge all members to stick to companies that advertise on this site and/or have large, secure sites such as MidwayUSA and Natchez. Don't take chances with unknown vendors. Over 2500 scam sites have been identified.
You can find the 2500+ scammer websites identified at StopGunScams.com .
One other problem we have found is that some sites will not not let you "zero out" any item placed in the shopping cart. This requires that you use your browser to remove the cookies from that site.
