250 Savage Dies?

I have these dies that are marked RCBS 250 Savage F&T. Are these for sizing down cases for this caliber I assume? Does anyone still shoot this cartridge?

The one with a decapping rod should be a fl resizer, one of the two without decapping pins should be a trim die, the third die should be a bullet seater.

Could be the F&T could stand for File and Trim, or Form and Trim

These dies do not have any threads in them. One tapers down slightly and the other looks like it pushes the shoulder back.

That would seem to indicate that they are form and trim dies. Could make 250 brass from 300 savage (which you could with std 250 f/l resizer) or 243 Win.

Howdy !

Had a Ruger M-77 in .250 Savage; and it was a "death ray" on NE Indiana "Soybeanus Digestus ".

It was a loaner rifle for my best friend, who campaigned it with great success, including @ local score shoots.

In the mid-'70s, the load we used was 39.0gr H-380 and FED LR Match in Rem brass, powering Sierra 75 HPs.
At distance, it sounded like the groundhogs were being hit w/ a wet dishrag.

These days, may (more ) good powder choices abound. If i ever had another .250 Sav, I'd be sure to try Hornady 75 "V"-Max in it !

Our die set was made by Bonanza ( now Forster ). For dies today, I recommend Hornady " Custom Grade New Dimension Dies "; which would work great outfitted w/ their "Micro-just seater" top.

Their bushing NS die acewpts Wislon bushings, and you can have Hornady set it up as a shoudler bump die also for a low price.
