25 MOA ADJUSTMENT

I was looking at one of the new,(new to me anyhow) Steiner Predator scopes. Thinking it was a nice scope to try on my nephew's 270WSM. Then the guy doing the review says not to use a 20 MOA base because the scope only has 25 MOA of adjustment. Area for concern?

25 MOA of TOTAL adjustment?

That would seem awfully low to me.
Even if it were 50 MOA of total adjustment, i think i would run the 20 MOA base.

Dependent of course on the distances you plan to shoot.

Oof... 25 MOA total on a 6-24 with a 30mm tube.

Should work for a flat shooting round like that to 500. My only thought is it might be hard to sell if it isn't for you.

Probably means 50 MOA of total adjustment. 25 up and 25 down. Pretty darn low by today’s standards.

If you run a 20 MOA rail then you go 20 MOA below optical center. Which means you have to come up 20 MOA back to center then only have 5 MOA left past that. Not good

I can’t talk about the adjustment, but they are clear and have tons of eye relief.
I have two of the predators, a 4-16 and a 2.5-10 I believe.
they have very good glass in my opinion, no tunneling at all.
The 2.5-10 is on my 45/70, because of all the eye relief.
No problems from mine, about 6-7 years old.

I looked it up, as I assumed the same.

Nope, 25 MOA total on the 6-24.

I don’t see how that’s possible. When a manufacturer says “max elevation” I read that as “amount of adjustment up from optical center”.

I’ve seen manufacturers list their own adjustment levels incorrectly when their scopes are made in China. They come from their ignorant Chinese manufacturering partner stating the specs and they just put it down on their website verbatim. I bet if you bought one it would actually be 50 MOA.

says "max elevation range" 25MOA
yet the 2.5-10x42 has 50 MOA
no visible exposed turet
maybe one of those you need a dime to turn it
So I'll take that bet Mr Slinger
