25 CM or something else?

I have no experience with the Souper & data is slim to nonexistent, but more case capacity should equal higher velocity if loaded to equal pressures. The 308 case is next up in a meaningful incremental size from the creedmoor.

Now I'm getting itchy for another new barrel...
Ah yes.
The dreaded rabbit hole. Lol

As for reloading data, the Souper is only 0.007" smaller diameter than the 260 Rem.

Velocity of the Souper over the CM should about that of a properly throated 260 Rem vs the 6.5 CM.
In other words not really that much.
Maybe 50-100fps.

The higher pressure of the Souper and CM puts it well above the 250 Savage.

The title says 25 or something else. how about 7-08? There is a 25 on a 308 case called the 25 souper, I have shot one and liked it but never killed anything with one. I would guess it would take some expensive dies to load for one and it may not be any better than a 25 Creedmoor.

I use a 25 CM for NRL Hunter and the cartridge has become my favorite center fire. This is saying a lot for me because I also love shooting my 6xc. I used a borrowed 6.5 CM last year and I didn't like the bullet. To me the 6.5 bullet seem too slow for the cartridge and I knew it would shine with a lighter bullet. I ordered a McGowen 25 barrel and installed it on my Zermatt action.
What length barrel and velocities are you getting, if you don't mind me asking?

My Ruger #1 in 25-06 has exhibited outstanding terminal performance on the 5 deer I've shot with it so far. 90gr Absolute Hammers running over 3600 fps work really, really well.

If I were starting from scratch and wanted a short action, I'd be looking at a 25 Souper AI. Start with either 243 or 260 brass and fire form.

I've heard of some decent velocity increase by doing AI to the 243.
Not sure how much you'd get from the 25 caliber.
Speaking from experience, I didn't get that much of an increase from the 7mm-08AI.
Bear in mind, PO Ackley supposedly didn't do any work on the 308 family of cases.
If you get a reamer or dies they will probably be listed as "improved 40°".

Finding dies for 25 Souper AI, are probably going to be custom, aka expensive.
