.25 bullets for mid range

Debating a 25 creedmoor build once my 6 is burnt up. Question is what bullets are out there for 600-800 yards ? I used to hear about black jack bullets but what i understand they was hard to get and are no longer available.

For 600yds and less I am not too sure you can go too wrong with a 115 ballistic tip. I made shots lope hunting form 300yds with good results many years ago. My 25-06 does not have twist for the heavy 25 caliber bullets, so I have no info on them but I wish I did, they sound fun.

I'd shoot the 134 ELD-M's and never look back. Over on another forum they refer to the Hornady ELD-M bullets as ELD-Murder bullets because they work so well as a hunting bullet.

Hard to beat Berger's 115..
For speed and accuracy.

Good sound and impact report out to 900 yards.
It has been the farthest I've been able to shoot.

Low recoil enough, not to loose sight of target.

I have to ask.

What is the intended purpose?

IMO the 25x47 is a better design due to not having to seat the 133, 134 and 135 bullets way below the neck/shoulder juncture and still feed through a magazine. That’s unless you want one use of the few medium length actions.

I had Manson Precision make me a reamer with a .195” fb. Which allowed me to seat the 135 LRHT out with only the BT below the neck and not have a compressed load either. I’m getting 2,850 fps from a 27” bbl for NRL Hunter open class, which is 16 pounds or less, and have a PF over 380,000.

Alpha also now has brass head stamped 25x47 too.

Banging steel and maybe a crow shoot once a month. Local gun club puts on a crow silhouette shoot. 6 crows from 200-600yards, at random distances. you shoot two rounds of 6 crows for a total of 12 shots. You have to range them before everyone starts shooting and it’s timed. 5 points for head shots 3 for body. It’s pretty fun

Sounds interesting!

So I'm guessing you are going with a 1:8, or 1:7.5 twist?

Alas, all my 25 caliber rifles are 1:10 twist. So that limits me to 120gr or less.
Still some fairly accurate bullets within that limitation.
110gr ELDX, & 110gr Sierra TGK.
115gr Berger VLD.

You might want to check out Black Hole Bullets. He's making some heavy ULD bullets.

Yea one of those twist rates. I was looking to see what good bullets were actually available readily before I went with a .25 cal
