25-308 AI Load Data?

I said the 280 simply because I'm a 7mm whore...
I fully realize you gain with all AIs. But to the extent of 200-250fps, without high pressure, hell no. Literally every magazine, website, and knowledgeable shooter tells the same thing, an average of 50-125fps gains at equal pressures. Just because you have an AI doesn't mean you can hot rod the shit out of it and claim you get XXX velocity (200-250fps) according to you guys with normal pressure. That's absolutely garbage. Sorry I'm the guy that had to call BS, but I call it when I see it.

Keyboard warrior? Lol oooook my guy. Tough talk for a guy that knows nothing about me. If you want to start a pissing match, we can do that, cause that's about where it's headed... However we can just agree to disagree at this point and move on like adults. Or you can continue making insinuating insults about me and laughing like a whiny little girl. Your choice at this point.

U believe whatever you want. Not really worth arguing over but most of us on here see what little you know about the AI status. You are the type most of us will hit the ignore button and move on.

Sounds good chief! Ignore away! No sweat off my back.

Just hilarious that you think a short action cartridge, that's been AI'd somehow turns it into a long action magnum performance cartridge at "normal pressures" Give me a break already haha.

Perhaps. Do you have a way of measuring that pressure?

3000 with a 140g from even the 260 AI with anything less than a 26" barrel is not going to be done with normal pressure limits. Maybe max pressure limits, a 26"+ barrel, a fast barrel, and the right powder.

It doesn't add up, unless you're running high pressure, which the AI hides fairly well because of the case design.

If AIs all did 200-250fps over the parent cartridge, than there would be no need for magnums. And everybody knows there is no replacement for displacement. And pressure is a direct correlation to velocity.

I mean why even have a 264 Win Mag at that point. It only does a comfortable 3000-3100 with a case full of Retumbo and 140s in a 26" barrel...Ask me how I know that. Sure I can ramp it up to 3250fps and say that's normal, but we both know that's a lie, and that's over pressure, plain and simple.

There's nothing magic about a 260 case or an AI.
I beg to differ. Getting as you say magnum velocities from a short action cartridge using about 10gr less powder is pretty magical and exactly why I don't have a magnum. I love my .260AI

Sure thing

A quick Google search on AIs shows and tells me, or anyone else everything you need to know. Tons of articles by well known gunwriters, gunsmiths, and shooters all show and tell the same thing. I guess you just think you're smarter than everyone else at this point haha.

Your 260 AI is not special, and you are running it hot to get 200-250fps gains. Plain and simple. Good day sir.

Exactly, no need for a magnum when we get this kind of performance from a short action. And yes it is safe with no pressure signs at all in MY rifles. But he knows more than we do.

That was a bold statement about Ackleys that you made earlier & then some weasel words about being a 7mm whore. Please enlighten us with your actual experience with any or all Ackley chamberings oh great Bwana kyote. None of this "I read it here" or "I saw it on youtube" crap, we want your actual experiences. If you have nothing to offer, maybe just STFU & move on to the next thread. Real life pressure data with a variety of bullets & powders in any cartridge would be a plus. Us po' folks only have case life, maybe a chronograph, & a little experience to use for estimating what's safe & what's not.

There were no insinuating insults, just real life experiences. If you took it as an insult that would be your problem & if you cant accept that, oh well, too bad so sad. You're the only "whiny little girl" in this thread. The only bruised ego here is yours. No, I dont know you or anything about you. I've seen no reason to learn. You also know nothing about anybody here. If you stick around long enough, you may learn that quite a number of people on this site know a whole lot more than most so-called "knowledgeable" shooters or gun writers & all website wankers. It's been said that, "Them that can do, while them that cant write... or just wank."

Oh... wait... Wow... I see you had a 264 WinMag pushing 140s at 3100fps in a 26" barrel, no doubt while burning in excess of 70 grains of powder. I'm getting the vapors just thinking about it. Maybe you can teach us how to do that too. Oh dear... that may have been an insinuating insult, or maybe just a snide or even snarky comment. There's such a fine line between the three it's hard to decide. So sorry. Will try to do better.

Anyway, back on topic, I still believe that the 25-308 Improved may be able to come close to if not equal 25-06 factory load external ballistics safely with judicious handloading.

WOW!!! I could not have said it that well. Thank you Bro for setting the record straight here. He likes the name calling and as he said "starting a pissing contest" concerning something he obviously don't know anything about and most likely does not have any of the relevant proof you asked for. Ain't it kind of funny how these newbies just waltz in with all their knowledge trying to tell folks that have the actual experience with the very subject they are bickering and back-biting that "oh it won't work or that's not true" Yea, it did piss me off no doubt cause I know better.

Am in the process of building My new .338 Thumper. .338 federal with a blown out case to .460 at the shoulder and a 30* shoulder. The .338 federal is a .308 case necked up to .338. Factory ammo shoots a 200 grain bullet. The thumper will shoot a 180 Nosler Accubond. This is going to be a in the tree's for deer and elk. Want to get to 2850 with moly bullets.
The .308 case can be blown out to Ackley spec. With probably anything less than a .375 dia bullet!
