25-06

Hello to all
New reloader here, I was able to find( H 335 )locally, but no reloading data for the 25-06.
If anyone can help me out its greatly appreciated. I did try the Hodgdon web site but nothing on that caliber,
Thanks again
Frank

Frank: Also not listed in the 49 th edition of the Lyman reloading manual. That tells me it is not a recommended powder for the 25-06?

H-335 is way too fast burning for a 25-06 ; you need powder like 4350 or 4831 for this big case and small bore.
Back when I had a 25-06 I had terrible results with any ball powder tried in it and I tested the slow burning ones.

I did use some 335 in my 257 Rob. with 75 gr. bullets but it did not work nearly as well as slower stick powders ; it also made a big BOOM and muzzle flash.

I always used published data for the above.

The previous posts are correct. I have owned and loaded multiple .25-06 for past 30 years. Go to powders are 4350, 4831 and RL19 depending on bullet weight.

If you lived closer I would do some trading or whatever so you can get the correct powder. Are you just starting out reloading or have you been at it for awhile.

Just started
Figures thought I did well, 2lbs maybe I can trade with someone?
Thanks for the info, That's probably why I couldn't find data on it.
Best regards
Frank

H4831SC has worked best for me in 25-06. H4831 works as well but in my testing, the SC gives a tad more MV. If you can't find any locally, PM me. A friend called me about seeing some on a store shelf this week.

I have used 4895, Varget, RL15 and H380, that is as fast burning a powder, as I want to go anyway, at least when sending 70gr blitz kings of 75 Vmax's.

The several 25-06's that I have loaded for have done their best with IMR4831 with bullets up to 100 grains. RL22 has also done well, getting the highest velocity. That H335 that you have is too fast, trade it to somebody for some slower powder more suited to your application.

IMR 4831 with 90gr Sierra Game King for hunting or IMR 4350 with 115gr Bergers for 1,000yd VBR matches are my favorites for the 25-06. Both capable of very fine accuracy.
