25/06 savage rifle

savage 111 25/06,, new slim barrel, 22 inches long ? how accurate can i expect this to be, hint its no tack driver ?has accu trigger, worked up a 1oo grain balistic tip nosler bullett load IMR 4350 and cci primer i get it to clover leaf hole 3 shots at 250 my scope is bushnell dusk to dawn 6-18x50 works for me at 250 -300 deer huntin but will this factory rifle do varmints too ??

I spent a little time wringing out a Savage Model 12? that was a single shot heavy barrel 25-06. With an 85 grain ballistic tip, it was a pretty awesome performer on Ohio groundhogs.

Not only will it do fine on varmints, but you should start shooting it in competition!

If your rifle shoots that well at 250 yards then yes it would do fine for varmints as well as deer size game.

well i thought i might have a rifle that would be decent enough to do both coyotes/fox and deer,with an occaisional wood chuck,, aint many left i aint seen one in ten years yet many big hay feilds etc one would think ? but coyote out number them and will hunt them too ahead of me Savage again proves to me OUT OF BOX ACCURACY <CANT BE BEAT AT THE PRICE OF RIFLE >ALSO OWN A 99 IN .303 SAVAGE IN 90% CONDITION A 1927 MODEL TAKEDOWN WITH .410 BARREL what a shooter for the .303 savage i have to make my own brass and i do it works but takes ten minutes per shell im carefull not fast but i have ammo thats more than i can say for most of the 99s around any more in .303 savage obsolete i say not ?

if it shoots load it .i also have an old,browning A5-12ga belgein made 1920s and man that will shoot a deer slug !!!for any contest ever had.. i go up against 30/30 rifles with my shotgun all the time, and watch people shake their heads and walk away after paying me. it shoots out to 100 yrds and inside of 2 inch groups, no scope,, open peep sight only, my target slug gun for sure ?

With your 25-06 if it is like mine you can eyeball shoot a deer at 300 yards. With that 100 ballistic tip pushed by 52 grs IMR 4350 sight in 3 inches high at 100 yards and you are dead on the money at 300 yards. You can't do that with a shotgun slug.

no i cant, however that first 100 yrds is where the meat meets the table and for many years my part of ny has allways been shotgun only,,, untill 2 yrs ago the rules changed now a rifle of any size it says any center fire can be used,all my deer hunting experiences have been with a 12 gauge untill now that is but i have been up against some very fancy shotguns beretta for one there were many but my old browning had walked away with the turkey year after year one time i won a whole case of 12 turkeys for just 3.00 per shot or 36.00 now thats my kind of shopping

funny thing ? i use that 25/06 load too i find that 50grain is enough to hunt with accuratly cant beat a quater bore if u could what would it be a small little ruger 20 cal
