25-06 AI or 25x47 Lapua

Yea, RL 22 is what I have used for many years although I have recently been using a lot of IMR 7828.
I have “Pole Axed” a handful of deer with the 115 grain Bergers out of my 257 wby, they usually just fold up on the spot. I need to run them over the chrono to see what they are doing.

I would truly love to own a 25-06AI to use with the 133 gr. bullets from Sierra. I would like to see the results with that bullet at around 3200 FPS with a G-1 of 0.613 and a G-7 of 0.315
I'm thinking my next build with Zack will be that 25 SAUM he has. Keeping it S A is appealing to me. He says brass and dies are easy to come by.

I have a 25x47L, I don’t shoot heavies out of it, the rifle gets fed BIB 110s and it’s lethal buts it’s not my go to for long range. Personally I think the standard 25-05 is hard to beat, an improved version would be nice for case life, the gains aren’t as much as other improved cartridges though.
for pure accuracy, say 300-600Y, which would you go with?

Alex wheeler built mine, heavy sporter barrel, shoots those BIBs in the 2s. It’s a family favorite actually. The 25-06 has also been one of my favorite cartridges but I’m a sucker for the 6.5x47 case. My 25x47 has shot everything well, such an easy rifle to tune, little recoil, if I had to choose one for 300-600 it would be the 25x47. If it went past that I’d go 25-06 with heavies throated to seat them out where they belong. No wrong choice though, both are great cartridges. Those heavies would extend the range on that 25x47 too.

What twist you have on your 25x47 & length ?
