243WIN ..to... 6XC

If u cut off .375 of an inch from the rear of a 243 winchester chambered barrel is it possible to rechamber with the 6XC ???...I have a new 243 win.chambered SS varmint weight barrel with a one in ten twist..If this barrel fails to provide me with decent accuracy is this rechambering option feasable ???..I wanted to go with the 6mm 22-250 but this looked a lot better..mike in ct

HI it is feasable to do that i had a new 243 and cut 1" off and had it rechambered to 6mmBR so dont rule that out either mine shoots consistantly under 3/8" groups at 100 sometimes smaller and sometimes larger.

It is possible to do, but not feasible, because it will likely still fail to provide you with decent accuracy after you rechamber it. The money would be better spent on a better barrel. The caliber choice,.243 vs. 6xc) won't be the reason for the unacceptable accuracy.
