6BR handsdown. 243 WSSM is simply too tough on barrels and the 6BR is not that much slower. Just my .02

Let me give you a bit more optimistic view. The case capacity of the .243 WSSM is 53 grains, and almost identical to the .243 Win. My view is that the .243 WSSM is no better or worse than the .243 Win.. They both have relatively short barrel lives (1400 rounds or so), and are probably better suited as a varmint cartridge compared to being a target cartridge. But, since the .243 Win is so much more popular the question that would have to be asked is why bother. It will be hard to get brass, and dies, and support.

The 6BR is a totally different animal. The case capacity is more like 35 grains, so much less. Barrel life is likely more like 3000 rounds. It is a very efficient cartridge, but probably a bit undersized for deer, and ideal for varmints. And we know in the right gun it can be accurate.

I think the cartridge of interest would be the 6.5 WSSM. It is almost an exact scale up of the 6BR. I've toyed on and off with doing it for at least a couple of years. The nagging issue is the availability of good brass. Perhaps you do it with Winchester, neck turn it, and throw half of it away...

The .25 WSSM is probably the reasonable choice of the WSSM lot. Bullet selection not so good as the 6 and 6.5 mm, but the basic configuration is not so bad.
