243 WSSM AI

Hi Everybody,
Has anyone had any experience with the 243 WSSM Ackley Improved? I am getting my 243 WSSM rebarreled and I am considering the 40 degree shoulder version.
Thank you
Jack

I don't think the 243wssm needs more powder. If you are going from a factory 243wssm.I would go with tighter neck and neck turn them down a little.neck thickness that works good in my wssm's is .0165,my reamer is also min spec.don't skimp on the barrel buy a good one.I like broughton, bartlen, and kreiger.good luck

Ditto!
Greg Tannel rebarreled my M70 Coyote with a 26" Krie:)ger 1/8" twist. Greg chambered it for a for a .272 neck. I have turned the brass down to .0135 neck wall for a loaded round of .270. I turned the necks down in 3 stages using 3 neck turners. Turning the brass was a pain but I felt that it was the only way to make the WSSM brass work.
And oh yea this thing is a drill! it ruins a coyotes whole day from a long ways off.:)

It should work fine. A friend shoots highpower with an Ackley-ized version of the WSSM case at 6.5mm. He's using a 142gr Sierra and the gun is very accurate.

Who chambers a barrel in the 243wssm Improved,40 deg) and who would have dies for it? I have a 6mm WSM and it shoots great but a little to much powder to shoot as often as I would like. The Improved WSSM would be great.
