243 Win with 90gr Berger

I loaded up some 90 grain Berger Match Varmint Bullets using 35.5 grains of Varget, Lapua Brass, and Federal 215 large rifle primers. The bullet shoots less then 1/2" groups out of my rifle and the velocity clocks in at about 3150fps. My barrel twist is 1 in 10" and my rifle is the new Axiom from Howa.As you can see this combination proved deadly on the coyotes that I frequently hunt. The bullet did not exit and performed perfectly as a varmint bullet. I would not suggest this bullet as a deer round because of the rapid expansion, but anyone looking for a heavier bullet that will buck the wind well out to 600 yds for varmints, this is the bullet. requires a little more guessing trajectory wise but is deadly accurate if you do your part.

Nice dog and rifle! I'm glad to hear the 90 grain bullets in the .243 will put them down. I just got back from a one week hunting trip in Az. and didn't have much luck with the 55 grain Berger varmint bullets out of my .223. I'm taking the .243 BRK the next time out.
