Ferocious PA groundhog assault

It's early summer and my annual assault on the ferocious PA groundhog has begun. I just started shooting Hornady's 80 grn.
A-Max out of my 1 in 8' Kreiger barrel .22-250 A.I. with a healthy load of RL22 and this load is amazing; deadly accurate with great terminal effect. Last night at the range I tried VVN560 and early results hint it may be more accurate than RL22. I whacked 5 of the pesky rodents Saturday night and this bullet, touted as a match bullet, performs extremely well as a varmint bullet. Most of the shots were 200 to 250 yds. but longer distances will present themselves once soybean goes in. More to follow.

I've been waiting for my 6BR from Stockade Rifles. So for now I'm smacking the ground grizzlies around Lehighton, PA with the bow. It's good stalking practice for Elk later this year. Most of the places the farmers want me to shoot the hogs is close to houses and roads. I have a few long range areas where the rifle will be handy.

If your AI accepts that wide a powder span, might I suggest you give AA3100 a try also, if you got some ) ?

I4831 would liekly run similar charge wt to that seen w/ VV560.

Are you using LR Mag, or FED LR Magnum Match ) primers ?
