I used to shoot 44.5 grains of 4350 behind the Sierra 85 grain HPBT. It was the world's most versatile load.
It would turn varmints inside out and kill deer like nobody's business. On deer, you *had* to stay out of the shoulder...it would tear up a fearsome amount of meat. As long as you did a neck or double lung, there was nothing better. Nothing.
