Wow! Another excellent article, this one on the .243 Win. Again, I'm impressed with the wealth of information compiled in an article on 6mmBR.com.
Since I've been hunting varmints, predators and deer with the 6mm Rem since 1974, I know what a hot little .243 or 6mm can do - the article speaks to this. Thanks for the caution about using good bullets when hunting deer sized game, many .243 bullets are a mite fragile for such use. I strongly concur with the recommendation to use the 100 gr Rem Core-Lokt and Nosler's famous partition. Nosler's 95 grain ballistic tip is another one that has worked out well for me, with accuracy and excellent on-game terminal ballistics.
Was quite impressed with the 3340 fps velocity from the .243 AI with 100+ grain bullets - that's right up there with my .25-06 and 100 grain Barnes TSX bullets... Right zippy little cartridge ya'll are playing with.
Cool!
Again, thanks for compiling a tremendous amount of useful info into a very readable article! Regards, Guy
