243 Win 115gr VLD - Load Data?

Hi. looking for load data for my Ruger Precision Rifle in .243 1:7 Twist. Trying Berger 115gr VLD and hoping for RL-22 recipes. I have been using Berger 105gr and 4831SC, but I'd like to try the slower burning RL-22 with the heaver 115gr bullet.

Any help would be appreciated.

I tried RL-22 and it was way to temp sensitive. Cold barrel had a much different zero than a HOT barrel at 300 meters !!! Hot barrel shot 3 to 4" inches higher at 300m.

Stick with H-4831sc or if want a slower burning powder and maybe yield higher velocity, try one of the following powders...

H-1000 ( was never able to get laser accuracy)
Retumbo ( accurate, and clean burning)
IMR-4955 (pretty much same powder as H-4831sc)
IMR-7977 ( duplicate H-1000 performance )
IMR-8133 ( I did not try this powder yet)
RL-26 ( great velocity and accuracy, but not as temp stable as the others in this list)
RL-33 ( the wild card in this list )

I really like RL-33. You can work up to 51 gr of RL-33 with 115 gr. The lot of RL-33 I have, had a very flat velocity spot around 50-51 gr so i didn't go any higher. With a COAL of 2.850", the 51 gr load was barely compressed. RL-33 settles very well in the case.

I started with RL 22, great grouping. Switched to RL 25 with 115 DTAC's, shot out two barrels over two summers. No issues with temperature issues. It is extremely hard on barrels when pushed to the limit. Barrels are like tires, they serve a purpose, easy to replace. The last barrel was cut back two inches and rechambered to 6 saum. Don't expect it to last much over 400-500 rounds. Should be fun pushing the 115 around 3500 and faster.

I use H1000 with the 115s in my Rem 700 stock varmint .243 (1:9?) with good results.

I don't like putting specific charges I use in internet posts. But I'm in the range published in Berger's manual for that bullet and powder.
