243 trail boss

I have been playing with trail boss and a new 243 i just picked up at a gun show. After i learned how to determine a load we headed to the range to see just how quiet it would be. Well it sounds like a 22mag and i am amazed at the accuracy. Bug holes at 100yds are the norm. If you havnt tryed this powder you need to. You only get 9oz in a 1lb can but you only use a few grains. Try it you will like it.

how do you determine charge for tail boss. have a friend that is loading 45 long colt, but never heard anyone using it in a rifle. whats the load data?
i have heard good thing in about it from him, says it does great in 45 lc.

I've heard of using Blue Dot in .223 for a reduced load but that's a slow magnum shot shell powder, Trail Boss is a pretty fast powder compared to Blue Dot so it'd be interesting to know what loading you actually ended up using - just for an idea, along with velocity and bullet(s).

IIRC the load the person I was talking to was using for .223 Rem. with Blue Dot was 14 grains but I don't remember the bullet.

Reduced loads are fun and can be a great tool for introducing the recoil sensitive to shooting.

Trailboss is interesting for me, becouse I could use jacketed bullets also (and not only lead bullets).
