243 Rl26 update

trashed my brass and started over with some Lapua 308 brass I had on hand,,FL sized and turned necks to .013 and started over with RL26 and 105 Scenars using Fed 215 GMM primers,,I started at 44 grs and at 45.0 was at 3265 with low ES so I took chrono off and shot for group at 100 and 300 and everything looked good enough,,

loaded 20 rounds and went to 600 and shot 15 rounds on steel and it was stacking them in pretty tight even with cold air pushing mirage down in a reverse boil type condition,,rifle was pretty warm after 15 rounds and was gonna shoot 5 on paper with bbl hot to see if it would go crazy,,I guess I miscounted as I only had 4 rounds left ,,I had no pressure issues at 3265 with 45 grs in the Lapua brass,,47 in the Nosler brass was just too much,,

I think it might be a good load to shoot PRS ,,gonna put this Stiller Tac 30 243 in my AICS chassis with the 8-32 Sightron and see if I can find a RBLP action to put the Brux BRDX bbl and 35X Leupold on and put in the Shehane stock for bench shooting,,

shots 16,17,18,and 19 at 600 from today with the 45 RL26 105 Scenar load at 3265,,8.5 moa elevation to 600 and 20.25 to 1,000 is a heck of a lot better than the 175 SMK 308 load I used to shoot,,

Looks good mr.big . I would think you might even be able to do some tweaking and get it to shoot even better.
So far every thing I have shot RL26 in seems to shoot accurately. I just have not had the time with it yet to see how well it shoots at longer ranges and what to expect from it in the temp swings..but good thing is it's a good time of year to get a cold weather base line and as we head back into spring and summer. 32 deg F out right now with 96% Humidity. berr,,,,cold..I'm Hunting in the morning with my XC with RL26 load. may get up to 57 deg F by afternoon tomorrow.

gonna tweak seat depth tomorrow and try 44.8 and 45.2 grs,,,,my plans for this load is a better wind fighter at 1,000 than my BRDX ,,so really hoping to find an accurate load in the 3250-3300 range,,may have to get a 30-32 inch bbl to realize that goal,,
