243 Rechamber...looking for suggestions

I have gone through 2000 Win 22-250 cases 13 loads each with no problems. Have 1000 Remington cases going on 10th loading. Have 2000 Sig 22-250 cases going on 4th loading. I have never understood the supposed brass problem. My max load is 38.0 H4350 with 105-115 gr bullets. I have seen and heard of shooters loading 2,3, even 4 grains more. Is that their problem? IDK.

All you'll ever want to Know about, the 6 XC ,.. LOL !
I "weeded" thru and down, that, Rabbit Trail and finally came to, the conclusion that, the Tubb, Version One Reamer, Norma Brass and Forster Dies was, the Answer, for ME

6SLR. It’s what the 243 shoulda been. Effectively the same volume as a 243, 30* shoulder, no fire forming, long neck, uses 243 brass.

I really wish that case would have been made into a standard cartridge with native brass. Seems like an obvious improvement over the 243 with basically the same performance.

I think it’s sort of a wildcat starter chambering. All you have to do is size your new brass and load. Yea, once fired makes the shoulder a bit sharper but that’s it. Back when I measured water capacity compared to a new unfired 243 my once fired cases were only .3 gr less. Easily runs 105/107 class bullets at 3100ish from a 25“ tube. You can use standard 243 reloading data.

The problem was that the resizing supposedly only worked with Win brass.

If Peterson would make that brass for that cartridge I would get the reamer. I might even shoot that one myself.

Thanks for all the input. I knew I'd get something here that would twist my brain a little. Hadn't even thought of the XC.
Yup, the 6XC Cart. has Won, SEVERAL 1,000 Yard Championships, by 4 or 5 Notable Shooters like,...
D. DeMille, D. Tubb and G. Salazar ( 3 that come to Mind ).
It's very easy to Tune with most Bullets ( Nice Long Neck ) and isn't, real "Fussy" about, Powder used.
Personally, I Wish that I had Two of them,.. One slow Twist for, sage Rats, Rock Chucks and PD's and, One Fast Twist for, L R Steel, Yotes, Deer & Antelope. I AGREE with the Guys above about, the 6 SLR ( It should Be, Standardized ! )

Coming from a big .243 fan, I recently rebarrelled one of my .243s to 6XC with one of Urban Rifleman’s Wilson barrels. I haven’t even finished sorting out a load yet, but I’m sufficiently impressed enough to believe that you wouldn’t be disappointed if you went with the 6XC. I’m seeing roughly the same velocities with less powder and good accuracy.

Since you are all set up with brass, dies, etc. for your 243 Win. Just re-barrel to another 243, but have the barrel in a 7 to 7.5 twist and you are shooting right with all the others mentioned and do not need to locate new brass, dies, etc.

I have used/played with virtually all the brass available on the market over the last 8 or how many ever years with SLRs but with Lapua and even Norma to an extent you need to speck your chamber correctly so that you can turn your necks allot, I shot my first barrel out using 100 pieces of Lapua brass without a problem it was just allot of work getting the brass right and I knew that ill have thin necks so I had to get a nice tight neck reamer. Its my go to 6mm but ist not really the easy button if you want to shoot blue box brass, I have been using Sako brass now the last 3 or 4 years and im very happy with them. Basically one pass through a FL DIE and you have a almost formed piece of lapua quality SLR brass. If I had to use Winchester brass I would have changed over to XC or Creed a long time ago
