I plan on trying that powder and some different bullets as you have suggested but also going to work up a load with the 87 gr. v-max. Heck I never did mention that the rifle I'm shooting is a new savage 110 predator ...factory rifle...When I burn this barrel up I'll then spin on a custom. Being a factory rifle it's shooting pretty good so far...I do intend to play with some different loads as it's been a long time since I owned a .243. I believe the .243 win is one of the most versatile cartridges out there and an inherently accurate round to boot.
I will add that to reach the lands on this rifle ...with the 65gr. v-max I did not have to go very far at all and with the magazine that came with it there is about a half inch of room for longer bullets as the throat wears...I'm impressed with that being a factory gun.
