243/6CM/6SLR

The benefit of the 6CM is the 31 degree shoulder angle, which has proven to increase accuracy. I don’t know why it does, but the proof is on the target.

Just to clarify, Joe: Are you saying that 31° is superior to 30° or to the .243's 20° shoulder? Thanks.

Joe, good info as always. I shot my 6CM Tac rifle yesterday. 9 rounds at 800 yards, 41 rounds at 850 yards. Winds were switchy, everything was 3/4 moa. This was all horizontal. I was alittle upset, but I'll get over it. This barrel as of completion yesterday has 3430 rounds down it. We leave for the Fl. panhandle tomarrow for a Tac shoot at K&M. When I get back I'm gonna put the NF BR on it and check the accuracy. It's been windy all week. This barrel's norm is 1/2 moa at LR. Joe, your last paragraph sums me up to a tee. ;D

I don't know if 31 is better than 30. But it appears to be better than 20. Someone, I think Dave Kiff told me my 6CM is what the 243 should have been.

I came up with 31 degrees over a process. I didn't start with the shoulder angle, I started with an idea. And with help from many knowledgeable people 31 degrees is what it ended up to be. In fact the entire design of the cartridge was a long process where I incorporated the help of many knowledgeable people and my needs and then came up with the final design.

I didn't copy another design and change it slightly, like many have done. In the process of designing the 6CM I didn't pay attention to any other cartridge on the market other than the 6XC. When all the math worked out the shoulder was 31 degrees.
