Just added up our count for this month and we have removed 23 coyotes this month, hopefully we can keep it up. Pal will start trapping next week, said he needs to get out 200 traps on his ranches by the end of next week.
We will continue to keep day & night calling also.
Tuesday night I removed 3 big ol males at 41, 38 & 37 lbs. All had big heavy chests and almost perfect fur. I skinned them out for my pal who will put them up.
Back to work next week for me, guess I need to do that to pay for my running around.

I bet that 41 pounder was a Hoss, I got my biggest ever last night. He was 37 pounds 11 ounces. And in my books, was freaking HUGE!!!!

Story of my life...... I see the title of this thread and automatically think it will no doubt turn into a lawyer bashing, but it's actually about a very dedicated coyote hunter. That only leads me to the inevitable probably that lawyers and coyotes really are cross breeding.

My Savage builds for day time in 6x6.8 & 6x45, 55g varmageddons, night rig is a MMR AR15 in .223, 55g Vmax, all with my handloads.

Tonight was a quickish one.
Saw winds were supposed to be at 18+ after 10pm & 6-9 from 6-10pm, so what the heck I went out not expecting a lot since I figure the winds on the ranch to be 2x that right off the bat.
Walked maybe 600 yards over some low hills and a handful of small drainages to a spot I had never called in yet. Wind perfectly in my face at maybe 6 mph.
This is the kind of area no one bothers to stop & call if they had permission.
There are higher hills & deeper drainages and the ranch next door does not let anyone hunt for anything on it.
Started calling about 7pm after looking a bowl over and thinking it looks good. It has low drainages, nice rolling hills for a coyote to sneak in but still be seen
Right at 27 minutes as I'm thinking of ending I finally see a coyote pop over a low hill where I figured 1 would come in from. Caller is on low, its walking in slow, starts to circle walking broadside & thwaaap I drop it, maybe 160 yards if that.
Pack everything up, strap him over my shoulder and the wind jumps to 17-23 mph. 37lb male & like the other males they have all come into the same sounds Ive been playing at night.

I use a Pulsar xd19 thermal for scanning, Night optics D740 3rd gen NV scope for shooting.
All on private ranches w/signed permissions for coyote damage control.
