22x47 lapua with 75 grain AMAX powders with fast velocity

Hey fellow 22x47 lapua fans. I got my 22x47 all put together and started load development and had a question about best
powders for this case shooting a 75 grain bullet with 1-8 twist 26 inch barrel . ive loaded up several at 40.6 grains of H4350 and seen some velocity at 3610 fps. but my question here is would varget give me same velocity at a lower charge or would like H4831sc work better for the 75 grain class to give me same velocity if not more ?

I tried H-4350, Varget, and H-4831-SC in mine with 80 grain Berger VLD's in a 23" Bartlein.

With Varget, I was about 4 grains under my 4350 load, and about 4 grains more with 4831.

All shot pretty good, but ultimately H-4350 won out.

H-4350 won because of better accuracy or because of better SD-ES numbers ?

Alliant power pro mr2000 might give you more velocity. Not sure how it would work in the larger case but if you have some give a try. I tested in 223 with heavies and it easily eclipsed any velocity that had previously been attained using other powders. Ultimately I was not able to get the level of consistency I was looking for but it was a speed demon for sure

4831 shot single digit ES and small groups, but at a pedestrian velocity.

Varget was equal to the 4350, but I went with 4350 to save my Varget stash for 600/1K BR shooting.

I couldn’t get enough velocity out of varget without crazy pressure. I used H4350 and got about 1100 rounds of 3/8 or less 5 shot groups. I shot a few hundred animals with it as well, mostly coyotes and hogs, with some deer. I pulled it after that and gave the barrel to a kid for deer hunting. He shoots about 25 rounds per year.

The Berger 80.5 is the end all bullet in big 22s, ditch those A-Maxes. They’re discontinued anyway.EDB3665C-0A4A-4A9A-AA17-EE31D1556A1A.jpeg

H 4350 works for best for me with the 80 gr. Hor A-Max.
