22subsonic semi automatic rifle

Go over to http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php for all you will ever want to know about buiilding a 10/22 and more. Especially go to the Tips & Tricks Section and read about bedding your 10/22.

Bedding was probably the single best thing I did to my builds as far as accuracy is concerned. Also, look at the Green Mountain barrels as they are wonderful for the money - shoot with any other brand of barrel. If you are going all out, the KIDD triggers, http://www.coolguyguns.com/ ) are THE ones. I also, I really like like the Revolution Yukon Extreme stocks, come completely finished) that are sold by Shooters Discount and they are a good source of other items, http://www.shootersdiscount.com/cart/index.php ). For bolt modifications look to Randy at CPC, http://www.ct-precision.com/ )

BTW, all standard velocity ammo is subsonic and they function flawlessly in all my 10/22's.

Have fun,

George

I have a 10/22 that is threaded for a supressor which I bought from a local class 3 dealer. The supressor is okay using cb caps but the round is not ejected. When I use regular subsonic match ammo the bolt slap is louder than the actual report of the round. I made a bolt buffer out of a piece of brass and some bushing material that I cant recall the name of, and it worked to quieten it down somewhat. The return of the bolt to battery was still very load. I removed the spring which is staked on a rod and thinned it down by about 50% by letting the spring spin around a rod inserted through the length of the spring. I did not shorten the sprin, but may in the future. I also used some heavier grease to lubricate everything and it slowed the bolt travel down some and mininmized the bolt slap but it is still louder than I like. The next rimfire that I supress will be a bolt action.
