I like the Turbo actions. So much so I have several. Most have never had a barrel. Others like the 2500 some the 10x. Building a br 22 is kind of like finding the perfect wife. Its good until it quits performing. Then its time to rebuild
On the flip side of what you said, I want to be able to know that a miss was all me and not my equipment. reading conditions is a very hard skill to learn. I seen guys go home and not shoot in a match because the wind was blowing too hard didn't want to waste ammo IMO you never waste ammo if you learned something. I had at least 2 maybe 3 matches canceled while I was waiting to setup because MD decide it was too windy.
IMO shoot anytime and every time and you will learn something always.

Which Turbo? Is the V3 significantly better than the V1 ?
The 1 and 2 are what I like. I would get a turbo and a 2500. Its like having a wife and a side piece at the same time
They will, all day every day.If you want to really have some fun go to Rimfire central. Ask in the Anschutz thread if a custom at 3 grand will outshoot a factory 5 grand Factory Anschutz. I ask and got booted for life
what's the dia on the barrel?
You were banned from RFC, because you admittedly said the thread you started was to win a bet to see how many members you could troll, I believe winning your bet was based on how many pages you could take it to. everything you posted on that thread was to upset people. If you want to really have some fun go to Rimfire central. One thing to consider for your continuing education.
If you get a new Turbo, any flavor, had better consider something important.
It sounds(correct me if wrong) like you’re leaning there because they are the cheapest custom.
Should you go there have no illusions about screwing a barrel on it and going shooting.
Generally they need work for optimum performance as well as somebody that really knows their way around them.
There is , IMHO, exactly one action you can shoot, right out of the box, that is Stiller’s 2500X.
A bit more.....far cheaper in the long run.
You pays your money, you takes your chances.
Tim, From what I heard that is very true on the 2500X, but if you are having a top smith build it they are going to blue print it. I can't remember which smith said any build he does gets blue printed regardless of the action.
for DIY shooters, the 2500X is a good way to go
