.22lr hunting ammo (stingers or aguila super max)

currently i shoot minimags and stingers for critters. surprisingly the stingers shoot to about the same poi at 50yrds..never shot them for groups tho. minimags shoot bullseyes out tho....

i'm almost out of stingers and i wanted to to buy some aguila supermax since their cheaper than stingers, but can't find any...why? anybody got any they want to sell me? how good are they?

i went on a buying spree not too long ago so i have plenty of minimags, but i luv the extra power i get with stingers.

I have shot both Stingers and Mini-Mags and all i use for hunting or target shooting are Mini-Mags.

Very accurate and terminal performance from what i have seen is about the same. On squirrel a headshot with a stinger produces the same result as a headshot with a Mini-Mag.

The Main reason i switched was accuracy. Mini-Mags are easily twice as accurate as the stingers in my factory 10/22 barrel. When i switched to a GM barrel with a bentz chamber(not able to run stingers) i didn't care one bit.

I don't know the ballistic numbers between the two, but i really doubt the extra velocity makes that much of a difference in the .22lr.

J,
I use my .22 for varmint/pest control also. My rifle really likes the CCI quickshot ammo. It is 1640 fps. Shoots better than anything for me. I have 6 boxes of the Aguilla supermax's I would sell. The HD might make it expensive to send though.

ive never had a 22 that would shoot stingers or the super max very well . that said out of a 20" 77-22 barrel stigers were running about 1530 and the super max 1690 . i really notice the diff when i switch from standard to hv for p dogs . my fav is the rem yellow jacket it they still make it .

My Ruger .22 LR Mark III 6 7/8" barrel shoots CCI Stingers as accurately as anything else I've tried. Never experienced a stove-pipe, mis-fire, or any other swearable problem. My target groups are enviable after fourty rounds at 50 feet, and usually are. Since I cannot shoot beyond fifty feet indoors, I will try 50 yard groups outdoor this spring. I would never expect my pistol to out-shoot my .223 Remington beyond 50 yards. Such are the short-comings of a short barrel. Cliffy
