22brx Help

I have just fireformed 22brx cases in my new brux 8 twist barrel, and plan to use Berger 90gr VLDs, and start with Varget. I will be using wolf srm primers. I need a starting load for this set up. Does anyone have any advise on what has worked for them? I have a 6brx, and I use 32.5 of Varget. I am think of starting the 90's at the lands, and starting at 31.5. Any advise at all would greatly appreciated.

Thornbird,
I would think you would be safe starting off somewhere around 30 or 31 grains and run a OCW test to see where you max out at, but if your not comfortable with that I would p.m someone that has quick load and have them crunch the numbers for you, Nomad47 has quick load and he couldn't bring the program up fast enough if you ask him, he is a very nice and helpful kind of guy, best of luck.

Thank you Bozo699. Great help and nice to hear about someone who would be kind enough to do that for forum members.

I will be shooting them to only 500 yards initially. I hope to try to 1K yards when I get the chance. I will post on what happens.

No problem always glad to help if I can, I am very curious about your rifle and seup I am going to be building a 22brx chambered for the 90 grain bergers and I would be grateful if you keep me posted on how it all pans out for you, I want to build one on a 11lb. rifle for 1K competition, I am using a 6brx right now.

I wasn't able to offer any assistance. My version of QuickLoad (6 or 7 years old) doesn't have the 22 BRX listed.

Bill,
I don't know how quick load works but if you have a 22br in the program, add about 10% volume to that case and it should be real close or 3 grains more powder or maybe a little more, punch that info in and p.m me the info if you would please, I don't think I would post that info though.

OK. I can't believe I posted this was an 8 twist. It is a 7 twist. I have soo many 8 twists that I typed without thinking. I will sure be disappointed if that doesn't stabilize the 90 Berger VLD.

Wayne, better yet, post the H2O capacity of a fired case and I'll plug that number in. Bear in mind that QL is a great tool, but really needs to be tailored to individual rifles.
