What is the 22BR'A' ? Am building a new 22CF rifle and the 22BR is very high on my list. However, I keep reading 22BR'A'. Is the 'A' simply added for the 22BR that has the shoulder blown out like an Ackley cartridge for additional powder or is it something else? Is there a dimensioned case drawing available? I've been able to find none. Thanks for your help.

I got a 22BrA. I love it. It's what you decided, the Ackley version of 22br.
I'm no cartridge expert, but one thing I like about mine is the fact that I have found three powders that work exceptionally well for the same bullet. All three powders fill the case up, but they are different charges. I got a 8tw. Think the next one will either be a 7 or a 12 depending future plans.
The brass was super easy to form too.
I settled on a .250 bushing.

22BRA is what you described, basic 22BR that’s been ackleyized. I’ve never had one but I have had and currently have a 22BR. Easy cartridge to tune and very accurate. I have read on the 22BRA, guys seem to love it. Make sure you consider feeding, with all the bottom metal and mag choices you have today it’s less of an issue than it use to be. Mine is built on a Sako 75 and feeds smooth as butter. I attached a pic.

It’s a McMillan, one of their Sako offerings. I built 4 customs and Sako 75s, all of them have that same stock. Different colors of course.
