Any real advantage of the 22BR over the 22-250 now with Lapua brass being avaliable in both calibers? I am completly setup for 22-250 with about 700 rds of 22-250 brass and nothing for the BR is it really worth the change over. Especially with 75 gr bullets.

I will venture to say you will get slightly better accuracy on average with the 22BR, use less powder, longer barrel life. But, for varmint use, I don't know that I would change from what you have. It will take you a long time to make back what you will spend with new components! But, if you are like me, I love to try different stuff. Go for it if you want to! I bet you will love the 22BR.

They will both run neck and neck together, and as you have all the stuff for the 22/250 there is no real reason to buy all the other stuff you'll need to run the 22BR, unless like most of us you just want to play with a new toy...

I have a several 22-250's one with an 8 twist and shoot lots of 68-80 grain bullets with good success.
My buddy has a 6 br and 22 br... they are easy to load for.. like stated above if you want to play go for it... accuracy is probably superior with the 22 br... I still love the 22-250. My 8 twist will shoot .75 groups and better at 325 yards.

I own both and they are both great. One thing to keep in mind is that the .22BR is a little harder to get to cycle through an action if you run as a repeater. .22BR is hard to beat for pure accuracy. Good luck.

The 22-250 is a good one, but the 22BR is a lot better. My fastest ever working 22-250 load does 3900+ with a 50. The 22BR is far more accurate and does it from 3800 - 4000....the accuracy window on that cartridge is huge. It's just stupid easy to make a 22BR shoot and it uses a bunch less powder. True, the barrel on that gun is 3" longer. Also I use the BR case single shot.
With the 22-250 case going AI is definitely worth doing. But comparing the standard 22-250 to a BR, instead of the 22BR I'd choose the 6BR.....it's unreal accurate and shoots 55's faster than a 22-250 shoots them. Velocity with 60/65's are only a shade less than the 6-250, again using much less powder.

I am going to build a 22BRX, I am going to use a Tikka T3 rifle as my doner action, it has a inline clip magazine so I believe I can get it to feed reliably, I will put a 1:7 twist barrel on it and plan on shooting 90 Burgers out of it, it will out perform or at least as well as my 22-250 AI with the inherit accuracy of the BR case, should make a nice 1k Varmint rifle. Everybody and there dog owns a 22-250, go for the little 22BR it will be a hoot

Better accuracy, smoother shooting due to less powder being used. See the bullet arrive as the recoil does not lift the barrell. I have been there with 22.250 and now shoot 20BR. I have a friend who also posts here who has recently moved his Stiller from 22.250AI to 22BR and has seen significant benefits.
The only disadvantage of 22BR is lack of factory ammo for those who do not reload. 22BR is hardly a novices round so I suspect most will reload.

One issue with the 22-250 imo is the case growth, im constantly trimming the cases even if i FL sise as little as i can get away with.
Dont know how it is with the 22BR but id guess it dosnt need trimming as often.

I run one of each (Tikka T3 in 22-250, Barnard in 22BR) and they have their pros and cons. The 22-250 is excellent as a varmint / game rifle particularly with the Reflex suppressor on board. The Barnard is an absolute stunner on the range with minimal lock time and light recoil at any time, any range and cheap ammo. Accuracy? Having shot them both at the same targets I can't honestly say much except that the 22BR being a more heavy rifle is easier to shoot all day. I'd not want to carry it further than from the truck to the firing point!!! The Tikka is nice and light and the ammo is slightly less fiddly to load under pressure or in the dark.
Reloading is pretty much an equal...obviously less propellant in the BR.
However, we have the "case" issue. I've about 400 - 500 22BR cases in the "ready to load" locker and usually have 100 - 200 loaded for match. It took blinking ages to make those cases up and the mini-lathe of an old (yet excellent) power drill with controllable speed and torque helped no end.
The 22-250 is fed with cases straight from the factory (I've found the European PPU brand excellent value AND quality) stuffed with Remington LR Mag primers, moly coated 55 grain Sierra or Nosler and Viht N135...load, sight and squeeze...wallop...dead boring.
So I guess, which job and how long are you wanting to do it for?
