Just curious what you perceive to be the better varmint gun.

I`m totally afflicted with the 6br case.

I have the following 6BR bases rifles.....

6BR
22BR
6BRDX
22BRDX
6Dasher
22Dasher

Sooooo.........My opinion is moot, how do you feel about it????

Phil.

I love my 22 BR's shooting 40 grain Ballistic Tips, no varmint's it's met like it as much as I do....

Boy that's tuff choices well I shoot a 22BR and a 22DASHER and I really like them both but I shoot a 6BR also and I enjoy it so it hard for me to just pick one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 22BR or 6BR varmint gun? No a .20 VarTarg is the choice!

Phil.............. you have a vary nice stable of BR calibers there. But, you must try the most fun you'll ever experince in lowest recoil and accuracy of a caliber. The .20 VarTarg in 32 Gr or 40 Gr pill! You'll regret trying this one, as you'll be leaving all the rest in the safe.

Best Regards from another N. Ca member.

Steve,

I MAY build a .20Vartarg now that Lapua is going to come through with brass, but for now I have a .20 Bobcat that I will never be without...

Where in N.Ca. are you trapped???

Phil.

Stacy,

It is a .222 necked to .20 with a 40* Ackley shoulder.........Sexy.. 8)

With the 6mm you can get by with 10'' twist and shoot all bullets. With a 22 you must pick the twist for the bullet your going to shoot. Hope that helps. Larry

I have a 6mm Dasher and a 22BR varmint rigs. Both are tack drivers. The 6mmDasher is the long range rig (well out to 1,000 yards) my 22BR is more of a mid range round (450-550 yards), not due to the rounds potential, but because I shoot 52gr bullets out of it and it just doesn't have the retained energy that my Dasher has with 87gr VLD's.

What varmints will you be shooting the most?

Groundhogs and coyotes, then I'd go with the 6br.
Ground squirrels and prairie dogs the the 20 and 22s will excel.

Crows, 338win mag with the 168 Barnes makes a wonderful show.

MY dasher is a 8 twt I shoot 75gr vld's at about 3150 /3200 fps out of a 30'' tube so I'd say 2900/3000 fps I've shot 80gr Amax's but never got any reading off those.

Why not BOTH!
